My name is Jayda Bernes, I am a holistic nutrition consultant. I took my schooling at CSNN in Vancouver, receiving my diploma in natural nutrition. In my practice I focus on addressing all aspects of my clients life that may be contributing to imbalances and dis-ease in the body. When working with clients I help them learn to listen to their body’s signals, implement healthy habits and uncover the root cause of their health concerns.

I am so excited to be a part of the team here at Naturopathie Integrative Clinic. I love getting the opportunity to collaborate with a team of health practitioners to support our clients together as they achieve balance.

When I was growing up I was always taught to focus on the whole picture in regards to my health and well-being. I couldn’t be more grateful for the insight and wisdom I was given at such a young age. This allowed me to continue asking questions, looking for answers and thinking outside the box.

When I started to experience my own hormonal imbalances, acne, digestive issues and chronic fatigue, I turned to holistic nutrition. After I began making changes within my own life, I started seeing results that lasted. It’s a privilege to have the connections to help people reach their goals and become the healthiest version of themselves.

My name is Tracy Ewashkiw. I am a naturopathic medical intern and student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I am working at the Naturopathie Integrative Clinic under the guidance and license of Dr. Sheldon Jordan, ND. I will be accepting patients for the month of January 2024!

I am working to become a naturopathic doctor because I want to discover and treat the root cause of disease and prevent future illness. In other words, I aim to unpack why my patients become ill, treat the whole person, and establish a healthy foundation so they can continue living with health and wellness.

My passion for naturopathic medicine was rooted in my childhood. I played competitive sports from when I was young until I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree. During these years, my passion for health and wellness strengthened. I became invested in establishing a healthy foundation so my mental and physical health could thrive. The lifestyle I adopted and my mindset about health aligned with the principles of naturopathic medicine, so I thought, why not make this a career!

Since working in a naturopathic medical clinic, the characteristics that flowed naturally for me include empathy, enthusiasm, and dedication to patient care. I am passionate about optimizing healthcare and developing evidence-based treatment plans that align with my patients’ goals. It would be an honor to become part of your healthcare team and provide you with the education and empowerment to achieve and maintain physical and mental health.

At the age of 17, I had a glimpse of my future as a healer, with the vision of treating the body, mind, and spirit: the whole person. It took some time before I was introduced to Naturopathic medicine but the connection was instantaneous. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education degree, I moved to Toronto to attend the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, one of two accredited colleges in Canada. Graduating valedictorian of my class while starting a family, I felt compelled to move back to Alberta, where there is a need for naturopaths. The natural fit was Beaumont, a city with a small town feel, which respects its past while embracing a vibrant future, much like naturopathic medicine.

Naturopathic medicine is about finding the root cause of dis-ease, and working with the body’s ability to heal itself by supporting it. Together with my patients, we put together a plan that fits their needs and respects their values, whether it’s using nutrition, exercise, supplemental vitamins and minerals, herbal medicine, acupuncture, injection therapies, intravenous (IV) therapy, or other modalities.

Having a family practice, it is important to me to ensure that each member of the family can experience optimal health. I enjoy working to correct digestion, hormones (for both men and women), energy, stress, and any concerns that arise for children. In my training in naturopathic school, I trained under one of the pillars of the naturopathic oncology community and have a strong interest in assisting cancer patients from the beginning of cancer diagnosis, throughout treatment, and into prevention of recurrence or progression.

It is my goal for no one to feel like they are beyond help. You have the ability to heal, and you can create your health by taking this first step. I can’t wait to be a part of your healing journey.

My name is Dr. Sydney Speer, Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and my goal is to educate, inspire and empower my patients on their health journey.

I have always wanted to be a doctor, but when I worked at a medical office in my second year of university I felt that there was more to health and wellness that was missing. That’s when I found Naturopathic Medicine. I remember learning about the 6 principles of naturopathic medicine and almost immediately feeling drawn to the profession. I aim to work with you to create a plan so you can feel your best.

I studied Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta before moving to Toronto to study at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.

When I’m not in the clinic, I love spending time with my husband, Peter, being outside, hiking, biking or skiing (both downhill and cross country).

As a Naturopathic Doctor, I strive to empower patients to make informed decisions about their healthcare by providing them with evidence-based information.

I would be honoured to be your naturopathic doctor and am looking forward to helping you with your healthcare needs.

Meet Nurse Tianna!

Hello Everyone! I’m so grateful to be joining the Naturopathie Integrative team!! I’m a Licensed Practical Nurse and have been nursing in the field of conventional medicine field for over 5 years. After years of feeling I didn’t have the proper resources or support to fully advocate for my patients, I finally took a leap of faith and found the job of my dreams, IV nurse! After years of exploring alternative therapies for myself, I discovered there is so much we aren’t taught about ourselves, our bodies and our capacity to heal. It fascinated me!

In March 2022 I took the root cause practice program, in which I learnt all about the root emotional cause to physical pain and illness. This was a huge eye opener for me, the fact that our psyche plays a role in controlling our nervous system, which effects our body on a physiological level… that changed my life! The career I was in focused mainly on physical health, although mental, emotional health has a huge impact on that. I find this is such a huge component in health, and was easily overlooked.

I found the current system of western medicine lacks this deeper principal, and forgets there are so many aspects to health. Naturopathic medicine looks at the patient as a whole, integrating all aspects of health, and it focuses on root cause. The team at Naturopathie Integrative Clinic empowers patients to take their health into their own hands, which is the form of nursing I align with most.

I couldn’t be happier to have found a workplace that doesn’t only allow me to perform the nursing skills I love, such as supporting patients, empowering them, administering IV’s, as well as offering advice, I also get to be my authentic self and share my stories, my journey and the things that empower me!

An example of this would be one of our standards of practice recommended by Dr. Jordan. There’s a study done by Dr.Masaru Emoto in which he demonstrated that words can change the vibration of water, therefor, If patients feel comfortable to participate, I ask them to take a quick minute to check in with themselves, to ask their body what it needs that day. We then write it with colored sharpies on the IV bag, and take a few deep breaths together to help set the intentions. This is an added touch that facilitates that quick check in, and allows for deeper connection to self. It’s such a simple moment that can have such a significant impact.

This is a practice I do daily, to check in and see what I need, and I love that I can share that with my patients!

When you come in for an IV, it’s not just the good feels from the treatment that you’ll get, or the cozy room with a cup of tea, or a friendly conversation with another patient , it’s a space to relax, connect and to heal. I love my job for so so many reasons, the biggest being something I never got the chance to do in previous jobs – time to get to know the patients on a personal level.

I look forward to meeting you all and would be honored to be a part of your healing journey!

I worked in health care for 20 years in a nursing home prior to becoming an Aesthetician and Advanced Micro Current Practitioner. Helping people with wellness and the fascination with how amazing the human body is at healing with a little help is very rewarding and a passion of mine. Joining the wonderful staff at Naturopathie just seemed to be the right next step! The relaxed inviting environment is exactly where I feel I need to be. The knowledge and guidance I can gain from them is something I’m looking forward to.
